Design and operating principle

Both the design and the composition of the elements, are thought-out improving the circulation of the oil through the filter, minimizing the loss of charge and retaining contaminants as it passes through the filtering elements according to the degree of filtration you want to obtain (Beta Ratio “β”: The number of incoming particles in the filter, divided by the number of particles leaving the filter).

The effectiveness of the filter element in the control of contaminants depends on its design and its sensitivity to any unstable operating condition, which may stress and damage the filter element.

Description

Air respirator filters are essential in the design of any confined space to filter the air and prevent impurities from penetrating which may cause greater damage to the lubrication systems. They also allow remove air from confined spaces.

Installation

Air respirator filters allows air passage without any restrictions, in both the entry and the exit directions, because of the lack of mechanical components.  Its location is carried out in a free area of internal fluid, usually installed at the top of the tanks or on the highest part of the confined space where the fluid level does not reach, always leaving enough space for maintenance.

In the habitual use, these filters are going clogging because of the impurities that they are retaining. After a time of operation, it is necessary to change it, in order to ensure the quality of the air that inside the tank. In order to guarantee performance, the filters must be checked. NORTEK recommends changing the cartridge for each maintenance check.

The number of filters depends on volume of the tank.
