Poignant tribute by the NORTEK workforce to the company’s founder

In an emotional ceremony, NORTEK staff met to pay tribute to the company’s founder and first President, Juan Alejandro Segrelles, seven months after his sad passing away. First, accompanied by a beautiful violin melody, we planted the iconic Mediterranean olive tree that evokes both the origins of the man who was the soul of our company and the product that, in its industrial aspect, was NORTEK’s initial focus of attention as a provider of centralized lubrication systems. Then, a representative of the workers uncovered a plaque that recalls one of the phrases that Juan Alejandro Segrelles repeated most often to motivate and rally his technicians. The drawing of his bust, in turn, is the work of Vicente Segrelles, a famous Illustrator and brother of the deceased, who has historically collaborated with NORTEK as a graphic designer.

For Segrelles a “no” could always be turned into a “yes”, and what was apparently impossible could become possible.

The event concluded with a reception held in the recently opened bay that completed the last expansion of our facilities, designed by Segrelles to be an engine for NORTEK’s growth and increased productivity. This new phase allows us to reach 10,000 sq.m., incorporating a completely separate space in our plant for handling stainless steel and two 24-m-long shot-blasting and painting booths, with a capacity for equipment weighing up to 12 t. During the banquet, many memories and anecdotes were shared about our founder, noting his unique personality, perseverance and fighting spirit, and his acknowledged technical expertise. The legacy he has left behind today is the best incentive for this company’s continued growth, which was his dream and passion for nearly fifty years.
