Company announcement on Covid-19 outbreak
With reference to the ongoing health crisis caused by the Covid-19 outbreak, we would like to update all our stakeholders on the current situation at NORTEK, and on how we are trying to contribute, in our very small way, to the global effort to overcome the consequences of this pandemic in all respects.
Health comes first
Over the past weeks, we have been implementing increasingly strict preventive measures —in line with the recommendations of the Spanish and international health authorities—, in order to safeguard the health and safety of our employees, and contribute to the common goal of “flattening the infection curve”. Even if all our departments are operating, kindly bear in mind the following restrictions and limitations, in force as of week 12 and until further notice:
- Personnel not pertaining to NORTEK is not allowed to access our plant, except in the case of inescapable inspections or maintenance works. In particular, according to the protocol developed to assure the decontamination of incoming goods, truck drivers are not allowed to get off the vehicle, and will be handled by our warehouse staff outside the plant.
- Our personnel will not be performing commercial visits, and will neither be available for onsite audits, assembly works or any other service in external facilities.
- A significant part of our engineering and administrative workforce is teleworking. Those who come to our office may be benefiting from extended opening hours (from 6.15am to 9pm, CET), which have been agreed in order to facilitate reconciliation of working and family life in the present context of closure of all educational establishments. Therefore, you might sometimes find more difficult to contact by telephone your NORTEK counterpart, and our reaction time to your requests may become longer than usual.
We continue operating for you
We are working hard to guarantee the supply chain to all our clients. All NORTEK departments remain operating. Our extensive stock, the preventive measures we had already taken, and the fact that we highly depend on our own in-house production, allow us —under the present scenario— to look optimistically to our industrial position in the face of this crisis.
However, there is not getting away from the fact that this an evolving situation, with unpredictable consequences. We will therefore make our greatest effort in order to provide our clients with updated information on the evolution of our production resources. Special care will be taken to assure all clients with which we share ongoing projects their specific progress reports.
Understanding. Commitment
We are working hard so as to mitigate the consequences of this crisis and avoid, to the extent possible, an adverse impact on our clients. We will provide with specific and updated information about all ongoing projects. We thank you all in advance for your understanding and support in these tough times. We are confident that we will be able to overcome them with our common effort and commitment. Please take care of yourselves!
